Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Josh Scobee kicked a 43-yard field goal with 28 seconds remaining to give the Jacksonville Jaguars a stunning 25-24 come-from-behind victory over the reeling New York Giants on Sunday at EverBank Field. The Jaguars (2-10) scored a pair of defensive touchdowns in the second half to rally from a 21-0 deficit, ending a four-game slide while sending the Giants (3-9) to their seventh straight loss. Blake Bortles helped the comeback, throwing for 194 yards with a touchdown. He also rushed for a team-high 68 yards on five carries, including a 20-yard run that set up Scobees go-ahead kick. Josh Brown kicked a 33-yard field goal to give the Giants a 24-22 lead with 3:26 remaining, ending a string of 22 straight Jacksonville points, but the Jaguars would not be denied. Jacksonville overcame a pair of penalties and marched 55 yards to reach field goal range for Scobee, who easily split the uprights to put the Jaguars back on top. Bortles keyed the drive with a pair of big plays. He followed a false start penalty with a 22-yard pass to Marqise Lee and later followed a holding call with his 20-yard run to the New York 20-yard line. The Jaguars defense then sealed it on the first play after the kickoff when Eli Manning fumbled while being sacked and Chris Clemons recovered. Manning threw for 247 yards with a touchdown and Rashad Jennings ran for 91 yards with a pair of scores for New York, which hasnt won since a 30-20 triumph against Atlanta on Oct. 5. The Giants seven-game skid is their longest since an eight-game slide in 2004, Tom Coughlins first season as head coach. Coughlins job security has been a question during the teams struggles this year. It was anything but a struggle early for the Giants, who scored on three straight possessions while the Jaguars failed to produce anything offensively. New York opened the scoring on its second series, marching 91 yards on 19 plays in just under 10 minutes. Jennings carried the ball 12 times for 48 yards during the trek, finishing it with a 2-yard run on the first play of the second quarter. After Jacksonville went three-and-out for the second time, the Giants took over at their own 46 and needed six plays to again find the end zone. Manning keyed the set with a 32-yard pass to tight end Larry Donnell and finished it with a 3-yard strike to Preston Parker. The Jaguars again failed to pick up a first down and the Giants drove 63 yards for another touchdown. A 29-yard pass from Manning to Odell Beckham Jr. ignited the series and Jennings capped it with a 17-yard touchdown run for a seemingly comfortable 21-0 advantage. Jacksonville finally mounted a threat after picking up its initial first down with less than six minutes remaining in the first half. The Jaguars drove to the New York 5-yard line and had a Bortles touchdown pass negated by a holding penalty before settling for a 28-yard Scobee field goal. A Jaguars punt pinned the Giants inside their own 5-yard line early in the third quarter and the Jacksonville defense picked up its first score of the day just two plays later when Manning was sacked and fumbled. J.T. Thomas recovered in the end zone to make it a 21-10 game. After a trade of punts, Brown missed a 43-yard field goal try for the Giants and the Jaguars answered with a 67-yard drive that Bortles finished with a 30- yard TD pass to Lee. The two-point try failed, leaving the Jaguars down 21-16 with 1:55 left in the third quarter. The Giants then gave the Jaguars the lead just over two minutes into the fourth. Donnell fumbled after a reception and Aaron Colvin raced 41 yards the other way for the score. Again, the two-point try failed and Jacksonvilles edge was just 22-21. Setting United on its way to a 2-0 victory, Rooney sent the ball high from inside the halfway line over goalkeeper Adrian after just seven minutes. "Its just instinct, Ive turned and had a quick look and seen the goalkeeper off his line," Rooney said. "Its one of those Ive tried many times and thankfully today its gone in." Just as it did on the opening day of the 1996-97 season for Beckham, who lobbed Wimbledon goalkeeper Neil Sullivan from the halfway line. "Waynes technical ability, his awareness to know where the goalkeeper was, was amazing in the build-up, and then to actually execute it was superb," United manager David Moyes said. "My only worry was whether the bounce would take it over the bar or not." Moyes was actually more pleased with the second after the wonder goal. Rooney was primed in front of goal to slot in from close range in the 33rd after Mark Noble failed to fully clear Ashley Youngs low cross.dddddddddddd "He was getting in the box and leading the line," Moyes said of Rooney. Rooneys first double in almost four months moved him to third on Uniteds all-time scoring chart, 38 behind Bobby Charltons record 249. The striker, who signed a new deal through June 2019 last month, thrived at Upton Park in the absence of Robin van Persie, who is beginning at least a month out with a left knee injury. Moyes almost had to cope with a makeshift defence as United reeled off a third consecutive away win in the league without conceding, days after advancing to a Champions League quarterfinal with Bayern Munich by beating Olympiakos. However rare this comfortable league win was for Moyes seventh-place side, reaching the top four seems beyond this team, with Arsenal 11 points in front in fourth place. "The win on Wednesday night against Olympiakos has given us all a big lift," Rooney said. "You could see today the confidence running through the team, so its a good victory and were really pleased with that." 16:22ET 22-03-14 Cheap Buffalo Sabres GearWholesale Calgary Flames JerseysCheap Adidas Colorado Avalanche JerseysMontreal Canadiens Outlet StoreWholesale New Jersey Devils JerseysAdidas Arizona Coyotes JerseysCheap Adidas Boston Bruins JerseysCheap Adidas Carolina Hurricanes JerseysChicago Blackhawks Shop Free ShippingWholesale Columbus Blue Jackets JerseysDallas Stars Shop Free ShippingCheap Adidas Detroit Red Wings JerseysAnaheim Ducks Jerseys ChinaWholesale Edmonton Oilers JerseysFlorida Panthers Shop Free ShippingWholesale Los Angeles Kings JerseysMinnesota Wild Outlet StoreCheap Adidas Nashville Predators JerseysCheap Adidas New York Islanders JerseysNew York Rangers Winter Classic JerseysCheap Adidas Ottawa Senators JerseysCheap Adidas Philadelphia Flyers JerseysWholesale Pittsburgh Penguins JerseysCheap Adidas San Jose Sharks JerseysSt. Louis Blues Winter Classic JerseysWholesale Tampa Bay Lightning JerseysToronto Maple Leafs Outlet StoreVancouver Canucks Outlet StoreCheap Adidas Vegas Golden Knights JerseysCheap Adidas Washington Capitals JerseysCheap Adidas Winnipeg Jets Jerseys ' ' '
